Description
250G Medium Layflat Tubing for Made-to-Measure Polythene Bags
Pack products of different lengths without keeping a cupboard full of individual bag sizes. Our 250G Medium Layflat Tubing is a continuous sleeve of polythene supplied on a reel. Cut off the length you need, seal one end, insert your item and close the other end with a suitable heat sealer.
The 62.5-micron film offers a useful middle-weight option for everyday packing. It is flexible enough to wrap around a variety of shapes while providing a barrier against ordinary dust and splashes during handling and storage. Manufactured in the UK, the tubing is particularly useful for businesses packing repeat orders, long components or goods that vary in length.
What Can You Use Medium Layflat Tubing For?
- Making polythene bags to suit products of different lengths
- Covering lightweight components during storage or transit
- Grouping small, non-sharp items into made-to-measure packs
- Packing textiles, accessories and other suitable non-fragile products
- Creating temporary protective sleeves for stockroom items
- Preparing consistent-length packs for picking and dispatch
Use additional cushioning or a stronger packaging solution for sharp, very heavy or easily damaged items.

Available Widths
All eight stocked widths are supplied on 336m reels. The width is measured with the empty tube lying flat.
| Flat width | Reel length | Typical packing requirement |
|---|---|---|
| 2 in | 336m | Very narrow, lightweight components |
| 4 in | 336m | Small parts and compact accessories |
| 6 in | 336m | Slim product packs and grouped items |
| 8 in | 336m | Wider parts and everyday packing |
| 10 in | 336m | Medium-sized articles |
| 12 in | 336m | Larger accessories and soft goods |
| 18 in | 336m | Wide or irregular lightweight products |
| 24 in | 336m | Bulky, non-sharp items |
These uses are a guide. Measure the widest part of the product and allow room for filling and sealing; the flat width is not the same as the usable diameter of the opened tube.
Cutting and Sealing
Choose the tube width first, then cut a length that leaves enough film at each end for a secure seal. Use a heat sealer suitable for the film and check the resulting seal before putting a packed item into circulation. The seal quality depends on the sealer settings and the contents being packed.
For thicker film where additional strength is required, see our 500G Heavy Layflat Tubing range.
